ABOUT YOUR BOOKMOBILE

OUR PURPOSE
The Elyria Public Library Bookmobile provides personalized, comprehensive library service to people who may have difficulty visiting a community library-including seniors, the physically limited, children, and geographically remote residents in Elyria and LaGrange.

COLLECTION
The Bookmobile carries a range of items including books for children, teens and adults, bestsellers, large print titles, magazines, talking books, CD’s and DVD’s.  In response to customer interest, materials in Spanish are also available on the Bookmobile.

PLACING REQUESTS
Items not found on the Bookmobile may be reserved and will be delivered to your scheduled stop.  Requests can be place in person, by computer, or by telephone.  To place a request by computer, click on the “Library Catalog for Bookmobile Patrons” link on the proceeding page.  To place a request by phone, please call the Bookmobile Office at 440-324-9817, or phone any of the Elyria libraries.
Once a requested item becomes available, you will receive a recorded message to your home phone/email.  It will be delivered to you, on the Bookmobile, at your regularly scheduled stop.  If, due to a holiday or scheduling problem, we are unable to deliver the item, it will be held until the next scheduled stop.

ROUTES AND STOPS
The selection of stops is based on a variety of factors including distance from a community library, mobility of customers and service needs.  A schedule of stops is published and distributed two times each year, fall and summer.  The Bookmobile visits neighborhoods and institutions, such as preschools and senior retirement centers.  A stop may be discontinued due to low use, safety considerations, or violations of library policies.  Suggestions for new stops are welcome.  Call the Bookmobile office 440-324-9817.

DELIVERIES
In addition to regularly scheduled public stops, the Bookmobile delivers a selection of titles to eligible institutions when a full service stop is not feasible.  Books are exchanged once a month.

CIRCULATION POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
The Bookmobile follows the Circulation Policies and Procedures of the Elyria Public Library System.  A copy of these may be obtained on the Bookmobile or from any of our branch libraries.

LIBRARY CARDS
The Elyria Public Library card may be used on the Bookmobile or at any of the libraries in the Clevnet System.  You may apply for and receive a card, in person, on the Bookmobile.  Please bring a picture i.d. and verification of your current mailing address.
