Job Title: Library Technician II
Department: Circulation-Central
Immediate Supervisor: Circulation Manager
Positions Supervised: None
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides necessary clerical support for department and may provide training and assistance to lower level technicians. Check-in and check-out library materials to patrons. Provide information to patrons and collect fines for overdue/lost materials. Assist patrons in locating material and placing patron holds in the small branches. Process patron holds. Shelve library materials. Answer phones and provide requested information or direct calls to appropriate source.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED equivalent. One to two years of related work experience. Effective verbal and written communication with a variety of individuals. The use of computer hardware and software. Establishing and maintaining good customer relations with internal and/or external “customers”. Use of general office equipment. Work attendance will be considered
Hours: 20 hours per week, including evenings & weekends
Pay rate: $9.66 per hour

Department: Keystone Library
Immediate Supervisor: Small Branch Manager
Positions Supervised: None
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs a variety of advanced and complex professional library services in conjunction with fulfilling the educational, recreational and informational needs of the small branch community. Promotes library services to the small branch community through outreach and education. Engage patrons in STEM learning experiences.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience with incorporating STEM materials in library programs.
  • Advocate for STEM resources.
  • Answer a variety of routine and complex reference questions by phone, in person, by written or electronic communication.
  • Assist patrons in the use of library collections through reference interviews, literature searches and instruction in the use of appropriate reference materials in print and online.
  • Design and implement programs both in the library and in the community under the direction of the Small Branch Manager.
  • Create and distribute appropriate promotional materials.
  • Selection and weeding of library materials; evaluate collections, allocate and control materials budgets as assigned; collection development.
  • Perform simple repair of materials as needed.
  • Master’s degree in Library Science from an American Library Association accredited school.
  • Work attendance will be considered.
  • Hours: Twenty (20) hours per week; includes evenings and weekends.
    Pay rate: $16.13 per hour
