Pages from your Librarian

It’s fall at the library! October is the month for Halloween, pumpkins, and other fun fall programming. Come decorate a pumpkin at West River on Oct. 12 or check out our Halloween at the Library party on Oct. 25 at Central. We’ll be stuffing scarecrows at Keystone on Oct. 8 and making pumpkin slime at South Branch on Oct. 12. If you’ve ever wanted to try an escape room, sign up for our Harry Potter version on Oct. 13 at West River, or the Mad Scientist’s Laboratory escape room at Central, also on Oct. 13. Plus, we continue with storytimes at all of our branches all month long. We hope to see everyone having fun this month at the Elyria Public Library!

Tours, storytimes, and group visits may be scheduled for school classes, scout groups, day cares, and parent groups. To schedule a visit, please call EPLS staff at least three weeks in advance.

Early Literacy

Our children's rooms are full of wonderous adventures waiting to be explored by your little ones. We want to help build the skills your child needs to be ready for school by working with them to develop early literacy and learning skills, such as talking, singing, reading, writing, and playing.

Homework Help

Stop in for a quiet area and large tables to get your homework completed. Use our online research tools.

Cards & Computers

The children's Room computers are just for kids! You'll need a student ID or library card to sign on. Don't have a library card? We have a Children's 3 for ME card for kids under 12.
