EP L FOUNDAT I ON The Elyria Public Library Foundation is the fundraising arm for the Elyria Public Library. The mission of the Foundation is to build an endowment fund, invested to provide annual income for the Library, thus assuring the future of the Library. The principal of the Endowment Fund is not spent, but interest from the earnings is used to support the needs of the Library. The primary source of funding comes from planned gifts. Planned gifts are received when the Elyria Public Library Foundation is named as a beneficiary of a will, trust, pension plan, insurance policy, or a charitable gift annuity. Gifts to the Foundation may be unrestricted or designated for the following programs: unrestricted endowment, library materials, children’s programs, bookmobile, literacy program, Keystone-LaGrange Library Fund. Gifts may also be made in memory or honor of someone. Support for the Foundation also comes from fundraisers, annual gifts, memorial gifts, and special appeals. The Board of the Foundation is composed of Library patrons, representatives from the Board of Trustees of the Elyria Public Library System, and the Director of the Library.
