Summer Reading Program 2023

Bee a reader during this summer's Summer Reading Program at the Elyria Public Library. Join us for a season of books, pages, programming, and more!  We are excited to offer a summer reading program for every age where you can BEE YOU! Everyone can find something to enjoy this summer at the Elyria Public Library! Registration for Summer Reading begins now through Beanstack.

 

Summer Reading Program 2023 All Together Now | Bee a Reader May 30 - August 5

 

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1. Register | This year, we have three registration options.

• Option 1: Register online through Beanstack. Online registration opens now; however logging will not being until May 30. If you already have a Beanstack account, there is no need to create a new one. Just log in to your account, to join the "Bee a Reader" Summer Reading Program.
• Option 2: Visit any EPLS location to register in person.
• Option 3: Call any EPLS location to register via phone.  

Step 2. Track your Reading | The more you read, the more chances you have to win.

• Kids and Teen participants may track their reading via paper log which can be picked up at any EPL location. 
  • Adults can fill out a reading ticket upon completion of reading a book. Tickets can be found at any EPL location.
• Participants of all ages may track their reading online via Beanstack, beginning May 30, 2023. Online participants will earn badges. The more you read, the more badges you will earn. 
• Child and teen participants have set goals to complete their summer reading challenge. 
  • Littles ( 0 - 5) | Read 5 hours.
  • Children (6 - 12) | Read 10 hours. 
  • Teens (12 - 17) | Read 10 hours. 

Step 3. Have Fun! | Relax and enjoy your summer with a good book in your hands. Remember to visit the library for reading materials along with special events through the summer. See our calendar of events.

Littles | Our youngest patrons can earn entries for the grand prizes.

• 5 Hours | Earn a grand prize reading entry for:

    • Children can earn a maximum of 5 entries.
    • Don't forget to register for the Kindergarten Reading Challenge via Beanstack as well; we challenge you to read 1000 books before your little one begins Kindergarten!

Children | Kids can earn entries for the grand prizes.

• 10 Hours | Earn a grand prize reading entry for:

    • Children can earn a maximum of 10 entries.

Teens | Teens can earn entries for the grand prizes.

    • Teens can earn a maximum of 10 entries.

Adults | The more you read, the more chance you have at winning a prize.
