Learning the basics of picture composition and paying attntion to you environment, looking for juxtaposition of light/shadow, textures, shapes and leading lines. Geared towards middleschoolers, more basic art history exposure with an emphsis on photography and how to tell a story with a picture. Some basic talk on editing, but mostly how to pay attention to the world around them. They will have a take away packet on cellphone picture basics and I will send them into the library proper to take 3 different pictures with an emphasis on composition and design. If weather permits, I'd like to take them outside for a walk around the library and they will take 1-2 pictures with an emphasis on telling a story or seeing relationships of objects to each other in the outside world. Pictures will be emailed (1 each per participant) to me and they will be printed and I'd like to encourage discussion on the images.
